This is singing in 4-part a capella male harmony mostly in the barbershop style but also doo-wop, Australiana, etc. We sing songs from the past and the present, arranged with 3 harmony parts supporting the melody. In this group you will get the opportunity to gain confidence, learn singing techniques and meet new people. This is a chorus of about 20 guys , but there are always opportunities to form new quartets from within the group, if you're keen to experience the purity of the quartet sound. We are also part of a national organisation, Barbershop Harmony Australia, which holds annual conventions. Would you like to experience the thrill of a cappella harmony singing? Then Brisbane City Sounds Chorus wants to meet you! Brisbane City Sounds is a non-profit singing group of 28 women from all walks of life, across all ages, and from all over Brisbane, and we are always on the lookout for new members to join our chorus. We sing 4-part a cappella harmony and would love you to join us! We rehearse every Thursday night from 7pm in Paddington, Brisbane, and our goal is to create beautiful harmonies. In order to achieve this, we focus on musical education - we have a very talented musical director, and we receive regular coaching from visiting a cappella experts. Commencing Sunday February 16th in Brisbane. This national initiative fosters a dialogue around mental health as we sing in support of our men and boys! Loud and Clear is a friendly, non auditioned choir that meets during the day at the Ithaca Hall in Red Hill during school terms. We sing a variety of music including world, modern, popular and the occasional classical piece. Loud and Clear perform several times a year at a respite centre, arts fundraisers and other community events. Going For a Song is a friendly, non auditioned community choir that meets during school terms. Our repertoire is very varied and includes modern Australian, popular, world music and the odd classical number. The choir performs several times a year, often in community venues celebrating the various stages of life! A new group starting on the north side of Brisbane!
